6th of April & Dream come true

When I heard about the nomination of April 6 for the Nobel Prize I remembered 4 years ago when we were sitting with a group of April 6 movements after we finished an protest preparation meeting. We were joking about after the revolution who of us may be president and who will be vice president. We were laughing and motivating ourselves that we were capable of achieving the revolution dream while those around us including our families was saying that we were mad to dream of overthrowing Mubarak.

We were convinced that we were on the right path and we were determined to follow our dream to the end.

I remember when they arrested and detained Ahmed Maher the movement’s general coordinator. They brutally tortured him to obtain the password for the group and they offered him many bribes to become an informer. He refused despite the torture.

I remember his laughter as he told us what happened. This laughter masked the enormous pain, sadness and feeling of oppression he obviously felt. He was laughing to give himself strengthen himself and to strengthen us.

When we agreed to set up the movement in June 2008 we had a dream and determination to realize it. We used to have 50 individuals chanting at the top of our voice chanting DOWN DOWN Hosni Mubarak , we would be surrounded by Mubarak's thugs and Adly's state security officers. We weren't afraid.

The more they increased in their injustice and oppression the more we became determined and the more we were strengthened. Every time they detained one of us we would bring a 100 and sit in outside the attorney General’s office until he came out.

We would deliver pamphlets in all districts advertising our activities. We used to go out in the middle of the night to spray the bridges and walls with down with Mubarak.

We were on the streets in solidarity with the demands of the unions, the workers linking their problems with Mubarak's Regime.

We were participating in campaigns, in crowded neighborhoods to raise awareness about the importance of ending Mubarak's regime.

We were going out knowing that at any moment many of us we would be beaten detained and arrested.

We used to organize a surprising protests in poor working class neighborhoods, to encourage people to join our protests.

We did succeed in a lot of activities ,despite being hit and being arrested , detained and being tortured  while doing a fully peaceful protests ....but we succeeded.

I do remember, on the 25th of January ,when I saw the enormous crowd protesters  .I cried and cried .

It was my first time to realize what does happiness tears mean .

OH GOD, we were absolutely right , I realized how our well is really stronger than the Mubaraks' regime .

Now, we believe we have the power to keep moving forward against any dictator who believes he is stronger than Mubarak (SCAF) .

Moving forward, despite any unpatriotic accusations from the remnants of the regime , SCAF and  some people .

Moving forward until we see our dream in building a free civil, democratic country where Egyptians is being treated in a humanitarian way .

Proud of all Aprilians. , proud of every member.

All my respect to all 6th  of April members.
